Is Canon the best brand for digital SLR?? - great photos with your digital slr at blgospot

Hey guys, I'm ready to buy a digital SLR camera, and I can still hear that Canon would be better would be it! I had a Canon SLR that I am about 10 years and the film is amazing! But I'm ready for the digital! I start looking for a Canon 400D to .... think this is the right way, or can someone tell me if the DSLR, it is best to think! I try not to become a professional, just love shots of family and life!
I am in Australia, so if anyone knows a shop that sells a digital SLR Aussie market price that would be great!
